A Big Step Forward with Yamaha
Yamaha’s bLU cRU program remains dedicated to developing young racing talent, and one of its brightest stars, Aldi Satya Mahendra, is set for a major step forward in 2025. After securing the 2024 WorldSSP300 title, Aldi has earned a promotion to the World Supersport (WorldSSP) Championship with Evan Bros Yamaha Racing. This move aligns perfectly with Yamaha’s vision of nurturing emerging riders and guiding them toward elite competition.
From Local Races to the Global Stage
Born in Bantul, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, in 2006, Aldi began his racing career in national championships before making his international debut in 2019 with the Asia Road Racing Championship. His talent quickly caught Yamaha’s attention, leading to his inclusion in the bLU cRU program in 2023. Competing in the FIM Yamaha R3 bLU cRU World Cup, he made an immediate impact with multiple podium finishes.
Aldi’s breakthrough came in WorldSSP300 at Most, where he claimed victory as a wildcard entry, proving his potential on the global stage. In 2024, he cemented his place at the top, securing the WorldSSP300 championship with one victory and eight podium finishes.

Preparing for WorldSSP with the Yamaha R9
For the 2025 season, Aldi will join Can Öncü in the Evan Bros Yamaha Racing Team, both riding the all-new Yamaha R9. The team remains committed to developing young talent while staying competitive at the highest level. Team Principal Fabio Evangelista has praised Aldi’s determination and maturity, emphasizing his potential to excel in the category.
To prepare for the season, Aldi and his teammate recently took part in a four-day test in Almería, Spain. It was their first experience on the Yamaha R9, which will make its WorldSSP debut this year. Aldi completed 100 laps, steadily improving his speed and confidence. He credited the team’s support for his progress and is eager for more testing.
“I am happy with the results of these four days of testing, as I improved one step at a time, thanks to the great support of the team. The growth has been both technical and in communication with the team. Obviously, I still have a lot to learn, but I’m adapting quickly to the bike. See you in Australia!” – Aldi Satya Mahendra
Eyes on the First Race in Australia
With Yamaha’s support, Aldi is ready to embrace the challenge of WorldSSP and make his mark on the global stage.
Excited for his WorldSSP debut, Aldi eagerly anticipates the next official test at Phillip Island, Australia, on February 17-18, 2025. As the first race weekend approaches on February 21-23, 2025, the anticipation continues to build.
